The pathogens causing oat root rot in Gansu province were investigated to provide a basis for the diagnosis and control of the disease. The root rot disease of oat in Huajialing oat producing area,Tongwei county,Gansu province, was collected. The results showed that five representative fungi isolated from the roots with root rot were selected and identified according to the results of morphology and molecular biology.Y2 was Fusarium solan,Y5 was F.gramineae,Y13 was Gibberella moniliformi,Y18 was G.acuminata and Y31 was F.avenaceum.The pathogenicity test showed that all the five fungi were pathogenic bacteria associated with oat root rot disease, and disease index ranged from 47.00~79.69,with F.gramineae being the most pathogenic and F.solan being the least pathogenic. Our results reported for the first time in China that the oat root rot could be cause by F.solan,G.acuminata and G.moniliformi.This study laid a foundation for the study of the aetiology of oat root rot disease and provided a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of oat root rotdisease.
