In order to understand the biomass allocation to different components in Phleum pretense L.at different altitudes,a typical sampling method was used to determine the biomass allocation of each individual component at the maturity stage. At different altitudes, the biomass of different components of Phleum pretense L.followed the order of stem>root>earth>leaf, and nutrition allocation>storage allocation>reproduction allocation. At different altitudes, the contribution of each component to the biomass of Phleum pretense L.was different. The growth and development of Phleum pretense L.was best at an altitude of 2000 m.Correlation analysis at various altitudes showed that the biomass of roots, stems, leaves and spikes was in a power function of the total biomass per plant. Each individual biomass component increased with the increase of the plant size.During the growth of Phleum pretense L.,the size of each individual biomass component and the size of the entire plant showed significant or insignificant allometric growth relationship at different altitudes.
