Abstract:In this study, the spatial information of urban vegetation was extracted through the normalized vegetation index based on the remote sensing data on the GEE platform.Using the Landsat remote sensing images from 1984 to 2018,the spatial distribution map of vegetation coverage in Xuzhou,a mining city, was obtained. The results showed that from 1984 to 2018,the vegetation coverage of Xuzhou increased from 48.62% to 53.42%,with an annual increase of 0.14%,and the vegetation coverage gradually changed from low to high. The vegetation area in Tongshan District with the wide distribution of mining areas, continued to increase at the fastest rate. The vegetation area in Jiawang District and Jiuli District decreased slowly before 2000,followed by a continuing increase after 2000.The overall vegetation change in Quanshan District,Yunlong District, and Gulou District had little change. The overall vegetation coverage area and impervious surface area showed a negative correlation.During the transformation and development,Xuzhou City pays attention to ecological and environmental protection, which provides lessons for the development of other resource-exhausted cities.
