Abstract:This study investigated the effects of exogenous application of GA3 on agronomic characteristics and seed yield of B.inermis cv.Wusu No.1 during grain filling.Exogenous GA3 at the concentration of 10,20,30 and 40 mg/L were sprayed on the leaves of smooth brome at grain filling stage, with the water as the control.Tiller number, leaf length, leaf width, plant height, reproductive branch, spikelet number, inflorescence length, seed number and 1000-grain weight were measured. The results showed that the exogenous application of GA3 to leaves at low concentrations significantly increased tiller number, seed number, spikelet number,1000-grain weight and yield, with the most significant effects observed at 10 mg/L at which seed yield increased by 35.96% compared with the control.
