Abstract:This study aimed to select Lycium barbarum seeds with strong salt and alkali tolerance.The wild Lycium barbarum seeds from different provenance were treated with different concentrations of NaCl and NaHCO3,i.e.,0,50,100,150,200,250,300 mmol/L.In response to the increasing salt concentration under both NaCl and NaHCO3,the initial germination time of Lycium barbarum seeds with three different provenances became longer and .the relative salt damage rate increased gradually.The seed germination rate,the relative germination rate,the germination potential,the relative germination potential,the germination index,the relative germination index,vitality index and the relative vitality index reduced when salt concentration increased.Both NaCl and NaHCO3 inhibited the germination of Lycium barbarum seeds,with NaHCO3 having more severe effects than NaCl.The salt tolerance of wild Lycium barbarum seeds from the three provenances followed the order of Dingxi>Lanzhou>Linxia.
