This research studied the disease resistance of seven common varieties of Poa pratensis against the brown spot pathogen Rhizoctonia solani. The results showed that Sapphire 3rd generation,Fulinmen and Over glade were resistant to R. Solani. In contrary the disease resistance of Park,Nassau,Baron and Rugby 2 was rela‐ tively low. The physiological indexes indicated that the relative electrical conductivity(REC),malondialdehyde (MDA)and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)of resistant varieties increased slightly with the extension of the time patho‐ gen infection, and the antioxidant enzyme system responded rapidly. While Chlorophyll(Chl)and Soluble protein (SP)decreased slightly the content of free Proline(Pro)and soluble sugar(SS)accumulated. However, the suscep‐ tible varieties were on the contrary. The membership function method which integrated various physiological indica‐ tors suggested that the disease resistance of seven P. pratensis varieties:Sapphire 3rd generation,Fulinmen and Over glade were moderate resistant varieties,Baron,Park and Rugby 2 were susceptible varieties and Nassau was a mod‐ erate susceptible variety.
