Ten species of wild Elymus accessions from different habitats were selected as the research objects. Through the evaluation of their production performance and nutritional value, accessions with high yield and quality forage were identified which laid the foundation as germplasms for the selection and breeding of new forage crops. Our research showed that Xizang E. sibiricus (XZS6) had the highest plant height, which increased by 67. 96%, 49. 51%,45. 89%,26. 64% and 47. 97% compared with Tianzhu E. sibiricus (TZS5) and Tianzhu E. nutans TZN7, TZN8,TZN9 and TZN10,respectively (P<0. 05). The hay yield of Xizang E. sibiricus(XZS2) was 137. 04% (P <0. 05) higher than that of Tianzhu E. sibiricus(TZS5). The CP content of TZN10 was 36. 76% higher than that of XZS2(P<0. 05). The EE content of TZN9 was the highest (4. 16%),which was significantly higher than those of Xinjiang E. sibiricus (XJS1),Tianzhu E. sibiricus(TZS5),Xizang E. sibiricus (XZS6),Tianzhu E. nutans (TZN7and TZN8),increasing by 13. 97%,29. 60%,41. 98,50. 72% and 22. 35% (P<0. 05),respectively. Com‐ pared with Xinjiang E. sibiricus (XJS1) and Xizang E. sibiricus(XZS6),Tianzhu E. nutans TZN8 and TZN7 had the lowest content of ADF and NDF with the decreases by 26. 33% and 21. 17%(P<0. 05). The P content of Xinji‐ ang E. sibiricus(XJS4) was the highest, which was 78. 50% higher than that of TZN8(P<0. 05). Based on the cus‐ ing grey correlational analysis,Xizang E. sibiricus(XZS2),Xinjiang E. sibiricus(XJS1),Tianzhu E. nutans(TZN7) and Tianzhu E. nutans(TZN8) showed good comprehensive performance and high nutritional values.
