In order to further explore the erosion status of the Zuli River basin, the RUSLE model and ArcGIS technology were used to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the characteristics of soil erosion and erosion sensitiv- ity. The results showed that slight erosion and mild erosion were dominant in Huishi watershed, accounting for 92. 49% of the total area. Soil erosion sensitivity was mainly low sensitivity, with an area of 482. 14 km2 ,accounting for 49. 00% of the total area of the study area, and the overall sensitivity was low. Besides, the soil erosion and its sensitivity in the slope above 5° increased gradually, and the soil erosion intensified with the increase of the slope. The soil erosion and sensitivity of sloping farmland, bare land and construction land without effective measures were higher. The intensity of soil erosion was relatively greater in areas with high sensitivity to soil erosion. The results can provide scientific basis for soil erosion prevention and control, land use planning and soil and water conservation measures.
